The recent High School Power Rankings list the Lancer girls at #5 in the Sunflower League.

“The Lancers are another team that managed to put a slow start in the rearview mirror and re-group.”

Olathe South, Olathe Northwest, Olathe East and Shawnee Mission South are 1-4 on the list.

The Lancers won their first round game against Topeka West in the Capital City Classic Thursday night. The 57-44 win was highlighted by a “monster” performance from Caroline Nick who scored 26 for East going 10 for 14 at the free throw line. The Lancers face #1 Wichita Heights at 8:15 Friday night at Topeka West high school. Tip-off is at 8:15 p.m. Go Lancers!

The Lancers lost to Topeka Seaman 57-45, taking fourth in the Capital City Classic Invitational at Topeka West High School. Seaman improved their record to 10-3 and Shawnee Mission East is now 7-6.

Caroline Nick was named to the All Tournament Team while Amanda Chao and Caroline Dodd were named to the All Academic Team. Nick was also one of three finalists in the Free Throw Shooting contest.
